Nismo stepped up to offer us a helping hand. The result: the Nissan Gran turismo Skyline GT-R. It was created using an R34 Skyline GT-R that Nismo had tucked away, to be used solely for research and development purposes. Starting out life as a perfectly street-legal GT-R, we customized it with numerous parts from Nismo's S-Tune menu. A remapped engine control unit and re-tuned intake and exhaust systems were among the S-Tune extras for the engine, while the exterior benefits from new Nismo aerodynamic bits including a new front bumper, side skirts, a GT diffuser and a new air induction slit on the hood (not to mention the terrific Gran Turismo pant scheme and "GT" logos). We're proud of our creation. It's been included in every version of the game since the "Gran Turismo Concept" release, and in addition to being offered as a prize car, another version with flashing lights on its roof appears as a pace car.
